Dane Atkinson Tribute
This website is dedicated to the skill and courage of Dane Atkinson.
Dane was a highly regarded, up and coming player, who started at the Scarborough football club in 2005 playing with the Colts before graduating with success to the seniors, in the following years. Unfortunately, his promising football career was tragically cut short after a car accident in 2007, at the age of 21.
Dane was a typical Scarborough footballer who fought hard for the ball at the bottom of the packs, and was never afraid to put his body on the line to win the ball or help out a team-mate. He also had amazing skills to go with his rare courage and hard-running style of play. The combination of these attributes made him a highly regarded player, who stood tall amongst his many team-mates at the club.
Scarborough Amateur Football Club is extremely grateful to Dane’s family, Brad and Donna, for their continued support of the club and for the contribution that has made this web site possible. This web-site will not only help keep the world informed about what’s happening at the club, it will also ensure Dane’s memory also stays alive forever.
The 200 Club
The “200 Club” is a coterie group managed by the Past Players & Supporters and was established in 2002.
It raises funds to support the General Committee in any capital projects or purchases to improve the overall Club.
It is a small contribution to put back into the Scarborough Amateur Football Club, which has provided so much enjoyment for many of us.
Since inception, the “200 Club” has purchased the outdoor heater, replaced all the tables and chairs, installed a LCD flat panel TV, purchased a new PA and speaker system as well as funded training supplies such as footballs, exercise equipment, etc.
In 2009, the 200 Club bought a new bain marie, deep fryer and other cooking equipment for the canteen at Millington.
Members of the “200 Club” contribute an annual subscription of $200 at the start of the season and they receive the following-
